Latest Domestic Violence Statistics in the UK

The latest UK domestic violence statistics 2025, released by the Office for National Statistics in November 2025, reveal that in the year ending March 2025 approximately 3.8 million people in the UK experienced domestic violence or domestic abuse. Of those affected, 2.2 million were women and 1.5 million were men. The data shows no significant change in the overall prevalence of domestic abuse.

Police documented 816,493 domestic abuse-related crimes in England and Wales in the year ending March 2025, reflecting a slight decrease compared to the previous year. Of those cases, 54,987 were prosecuted. From these prosecutions, 41,070 resulted in guilty verdicts, while 13,917 did not result in convictions.

These figures highlight the continued need for structured anger management support for individuals whose behaviour has led to domestic abuse or domestic violence.

Why Anger Management for Perpetrators Matters

If you have been arrested or are facing legal proceedings related to domestic violence, it is important to recognise that police involvement is rarely accidental. It is often a sign that anger management difficulties have escalated beyond your control.

Despite many individuals successfully completing anger management for perpetrators of domestic violence and progressing to supervised or increased child contact, the latest statistics show there is still significant work to be done.

Taking responsibility is the first and most important step towards change.
