WHAT IS ANGER MANAGEMENT?
Anger management is essentially a one-to-one or couple therapy sessions, delivered in a highly confidential context and the goal is to assess the history of your disordered anger, identify what are your triggers, what maintains your triggers and how can they be prevented and managed. The anger management is a type of counselling support that draws on the traditional counselling methods but it focuses more on the anger The anger management draws on theories of bullying which is essentially aggression, its causes, targets, management of it and it takes into account a number of different support systems that are available including law and the police as a way of educating those that are unfamiliar with the effects their disordered anger and aggression could have on their lives. The sessions are suitable for adults, older adults, young adults, individuals, couples and even children and for self-referrals as well as referrals by solicitors, or court orders.

The aim of the anger management sessions is to help clients alleviate issues associated with the damaging outbursts of anger and to develop skills to manage it. THE TIME IT TAKES FOR ANGER MANAGEMENT SESSIONS TO WORK
If it took you over twenty years to develop your anger issues, do not expect the issue to be resolved within two hours. The length of the time it will take for you to see improvement will depend on a number of different factors such whether it is a straightforward anger management, or whether it is further compounded by substance misuse or lying, and an acknowledgement that you do have issues and a willingness or resistance to fix it. Typically clients will see improvement within three months which equals to twelves sessions but clients with a complex history of trauma or substance misuse should expect to engage in a weekly sessions for at least six months.
THE MOST SUITABLE TIME TO START THE SESSIONS
You should try to consider start doing the anger management sessions if you see that there is a repeated negative behavioural pattern or an ongoing frequent conflict that involves also outbursts of anger or domestic violence that does not seem to go away no matter what you do. The longer you leave it, the more likely it is that one of you two in a couple or someone in a family will get fed up and will either leave without telling either of you anything, that could lead to an acrimonious divorce or worst of all police and social services could get involved which could sadly result in a criminal record or one or both partners/family members being prevented from seeing their children for a number of years.
